Landly guides
A place owner’s guide to building a community
A visitor can enjoy your place and still disappear after the visit. A community gives that connection somewhere to continue—but only when people have a reason to take part.

Illustration of the idea. Landly’s app is in development.
Start with a reason to return
Before choosing a channel or asking people to join, decide what they will find there. For a café, it might be memories from a shared table or updates about a gathering. For a stay, it might be guests exchanging photos and stories from their visit.
The useful question is not ‘How often can we promote ourselves?’ It is ‘What would someone who has been here be happy to hear from us?’ Keep the answer small enough that you can deliver it consistently.
Make the invitation part of the welcome
Explain what joining means and let people choose. A personal invitation at the end of a visit can be clearer than a sign that asks for a follow without saying why.
Landly’s proposed approach starts with an in-person visit. A participating owner would confirm a visitor claim, after which the visitor could receive a Digital Deed and join the place community. The owner tools are not available yet; onboarding and verification are still being designed.
Let visitors tell their own stories
A visitor’s memory does not need to sound like your marketing. A photograph, a short video, or a note about a small moment can show a side of your place that a listing misses.
Landly plans to support public photos, videos and reels from visits, so other people can discover the place. That is an opportunity for discovery, not a promise of bookings or increased footfall. Ask before reusing a visitor’s content in your own promotion.
Set a few expectations early
A welcoming space needs a little care. These are useful questions to answer before you invite a community anywhere, including on tools you already use.
- What kinds of posts belong here, and what should stay private?
- Who will respond to questions and handle reports?
- How will visitors know whether an update is current?
- How will you keep promotional messages useful and occasional?
- How can someone leave or ask for their information to be removed?
Prepare while Landly is being built
Put together accurate public details, a short description of your place, and photographs you have permission to use. Think about who on your team would welcome visitors and confirm claims in person. Avoid collecting extra identity documents simply to prepare for a feature that has not launched.
You can join Landly’s owner early-access list now with your place details. Registration is an expression of interest, not ownership verification or a live place profile. We will explain the launch process and app controls before those features become available.
